Beware! Don’t allow God’s patience to run out. Give your life to Christ today .
Pastor E.A. Adeboye .
Brethren, I announce to you today that our God is unlimited in power .
The powers of a Local Government Chairman is limited to his Local Government. The powers of a State Governor is limited to his State. The powers of a President is limited to his country. As powerful as US President Trump is, he cannot impose a curfew on Nigeria but you have a God whose power is unlimited. Psalm 62:11 says, ” God has spoken once, twice I have heard that power belongs to God”. Jeremiah 33: 27 says ” nothing is too hard for God to do “.
Our God is unlimited in generosity . When He decides to give you something, He will give far above what you ask, think or imagine. When you ask Him for one thing, He gives you in thousands.
Our God is unlimited in favour . David never thought he would become king but our God made him king. Several years after David died, blind Bartimaeus saw Jesus and said ” Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me “. Mark 10:48.
I am also example of God’s favour. He came to take me from an unknown village and an unknown family and bestowed His favour on me. Glory to God.
Our God is unlimited in gentleness . After David messed up by committing adultery and murder and was confronted with his sins, he ran to God and asked for mercy. God forgave him. Since David has shown repentance and as he was repenting, David was surprised that God has forgiven him hence he was inspired to write Psalm 18:35 which says ” you have also given me the shield of your salvation, your right hand has held me, your gentleness has made me great”. That’s your God. That’s our God. He is unlimited in gentleness.
In closing, I need to warn you. God is unlimited in power. God is unlimited in love. God is unlimited in generosity. God is unlimited in kindness. God is unlimited in gentleness but God can be limited in patience. If you go too far and fail to heed His call for repentance, His patience can run out.
Ephraim enjoyed God’s favour. Upon being blessed by his grandfather Jacob (when Jacob crossed his hand), Ephraim became ten times prosperous than his senior brother Manasseh. Ephraim suddenly became proud and started giving excuses. He played with idols. In Hosea 4:7, God said, Ephraim has joined himself with idols, leave him alone. In Hosea 5:9, God said ” Ephraim shall be desolate “. Being desolate means to be destroyed beyond recognition. That will not be your portion in Jesus name.
Therefore, I am warning you today. Don’t allow the patience of God to run out of your life.
There was a prominent Chief. I was in my office at University of Lagos in those days preparing to write a paper when God spoke to me and said ” son, write a letter to Chief so and so in so and so town. Tell him that I can forgive all the terrible sins he committed if only he can give his life to Christ”. I told the Lord, ” I know the chief and I know the town but I don’t know his house”. God directed me how to write the address. That was a period when you can send letters out through the post office and you may not get it in 3months. I posted the letter. The chief got the letter in 3days because the angels of God guided the letter. He sent his driver to Lagos to tell me he would come to meet me. He came. We spoke. I told him what God said and asked him to give his life to Christ. He said ” I will think of it “. For 2years, I was travelling from Lagos to his town to see the chief every 2weeks and tell him the need to give his life to Christ. His response was ” I will think about it “. A time came and he had a massive stroke. He sent for me. I went to meet him. I prayed to God for mercy. Within one hour, the stroke was gone. I told the Chief, “now that God has healed you, please consider giving your life to Christ” . He responded “I will think about it”. At that point, I realized that the chief was not ready to give his life to Christ. I stopped visiting him. Later I learnt he died.
Brethren, I urge you to give your life to Christ now. Don’t allow God’s patience to run out of your life. Give your life to Jesus now. Tomorrow may be too late.
