Learn from God’s resurrection plan for Jesus!!!
Pastor Lukman Umar
Please open your Bible to Mark 16:1-4. You are going to see lots of things in that Bible passage. Mark 16:1-4 reads as follows: “And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre. And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great”.
The first thing we need to note is that God is a Master Planner. God did not plan the resurrection of Jesus on the Friday when Jesus was crucified. God knew the first man (Adam) will mess up hence He prepared Jesus Christ ahead to save mankind from sin and reconcile mankind back to God. Brethren, God is telling you the same thing. Plan your life. Don’t live your life to chances. Have a saving plan. Jesus said which of you wanted to build a house will not sit down and count the cost. Luke 14:28. We are all youths. We have all the energy now to work and plan. As you are doing that, commit your ways unto Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 16:3.
The second thing we can see in that passage is timely offering and appreciation. Something happened in Mark 14:3. The same Salome (Mary Magdalene) had opportunity to anoint Jesus in Mark 14:3. She came with other women to anoint Jesus in Mark 16:1-2 but Jesus had risen. Imagine if the woman had not anointed Jesus in Mark 14: 3? They would have lost that opportunity forever. There is a lesson here. Whatever you can do today, do it. Don’t postpone it till tomorrow. The opportunity may not be there tomorrow. Celebrate people when they are alive. Don’t wait for post humous celebration. Send that money to your parents today. Don’t wait till tomorrow or when the money is very big in your hands. Do that assignment today. Don’t wait till tomorrow. Pay that visit today. Don’t wait till tomorrow.
The third thing we can see in this passage is that you must refuse to be hopeless. When the three women were going to the tomb, they had concerns about the great stone. They were talking to themselves, who will roll away the stone. Miraculously, the stone was rolled away. You may be wondering saying who will help me? Please do not allow your situation or circumstances to make you hopeless. The Bible says Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27. Don’t allow that situation to take away your hope in Christ. He will show forth for you in Jesus name.
Finally, we must remember that Jesus is coming back again. In Acts 1:11, the Bible says “this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven”. Brethren, Jesus is coming back again. Are you prepared for His coming? Jesus died and resurrected. He is coming back again. Give your life to Him if you are yet to do so and begin to live a holy life. You must realize that everyone of us has appointment with death. It will come one day. It is true the Bible says He will satisfy us with long life (Psalm 91:16) but who determines how long is long life? Is it not God? Please be close to God. Do not procrastinate. Plan your life. Celebrate people at the right time. It shall be well with you.
