Learn from Joseph! Save for raining days!!

But you must endure the cross and despise the shame!!

Staff Reporter

Brethren, for every child of God, there is joy set before him or her but before we can attain that joy, we must be ready to endure the cross and despise the shame.

In Hebrews 12:2, the Bible says we should look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the Joy that was set before Him endured the cross and despise the shame….”. Lets look at what happened when Jesus endured the Cross and despised the shame. It’s there in that Bible passage. The Bible says…. “and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God”.

Brethren, you have a cross. I have a cross. Our crosses differ. You must be ready to identify your cross and carry it daily and follow Jesus with your cross. Experience has shown that some believers are not ready to endure. If you are one of them., I admonish you to endure today so that you will not endure tomorrow. Endurance and long suffering are cousins., They are related. Long suffering is part of the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5:22. You must be ready to endure.

Everyone in the Scriptures endured. David endured all the attacks he got from King Saul. Joseph endured what he went through in the hands of his brothers and Potiphar’s wife. Jacob endured all he went through in the hands of his uncle, Laban. You need to read the story of men of God dead or alive today. You will know that they all endured. Please learn to endure the cross. God will see you through. You will overcome in Jesus name.

The second thing you need to do to get to that joy is your must despise the shame. Some believers are not ready to take up certain jobs and improve their financial status because of shame and they are living in penury, lack and regrets. They must not blame the devil. It’s not the devil’s fault. You must be ready to despise (ignore) shame if you want to go far in the Kingdom. Look at what the Master Jesus went through. Was it not shameful for the Son of the Living God to be flogged, dragged, beaten, stoned and hanged on the cross? But our Saviour endured it. He despised the shame so that He can end well and deliver you and me from the bondage of satan.

Brethren, if you are not ready to ignore shame to change your situation for better, it means you enjoy the company and bondage of satan because satan will not want you to leave your present ugly situation because of shame. Once again, check the story of men of God you admire. You will be shocked what they went through before they get to the position of influence and affluence they enjoy today. May the Lord be with you.  Remember, no pain, no gain!
